The Board raises funds in a variety of ways. Businesses include three Gift Shops, located throughout The Johns Hopkins Hospital; four Grand Grounds coffee bars, three of which are on the main campus of the Hospital, while one is at Green Spring Station; and the Carry On Shop, a resale, thrift store, located on Monument Street.
Special Events include regularly-scheduled fundraisers: The Best Dressed Sale held every fall in the Carriage House at Evergreen; Great Taste Tours usually held every other year in the spring; and the Johns Hopkins Hospital Golf Classic held annually in the spring. Other Great Taste special events have included gala dinners and auctions.
Contributions from generous supporters and from members of The Women’s Board. Depending upon the designation of the donor, these gifts are either added to the Endowment Fund or to the Reserve Fund, which provides the money given each year in grants.
